Design by Fire 2010 - Conference on Interaction design

We are happy to announce the fourth edition of the Design by Fire conference. Preparations are well underway; we're working hard to make sure Design by Fire 2010 will be an even better experience than last year's edition.

This year's program

The 2010 program is shaping up nicely. We are very pleased with the speakers confirmed so far:

• Bill Buxton, Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research and author of Sketching User Experiences, accepted our invitation to keynote at this year's conference. He will dive into the essence of the term ‘natural’;
• Sascha Wolter, a professional developer and interaction designer of rich applications, will stun us with his hands-on experience of prototyping interactions;
• Claire Rowland, working as service design lead and research manager at Fjord London, will offer an introduction to the psychology of creativity;
• Jacco Ouwerkerk, interactive concepter at IN10 Communication, will give a perspective on the role of augmented reality for museums;

There will be time for discussions after each presentation. More sessions will be announced soon.

Workshops

For the first time in our four year history, we are offering a bunch of workshops! These half day workshops take place on Tuesday October 12th in Utrecht and are targeted at interaction designers.

Design by Fire DesignCamp

And we have even more in store. Born from the desire to share and learn design solutions in an open environment, we initiate the Design by Fire DesignCamp. No spectators, only participants! It'll be an intense event where the attendees are the main actors. The DesignCamp will also take place on Tuesday October 12th in Utrecht.

Registration for the workshops and the Design by Fire DesignCamp opens 31 August 2010.
